MOST ACCURATE YUGA CALCULATIONS

Friends, this is the most controversial, complex as well as misunderstood topic of this CENTURY. If you will try to search the internet to know:

  • The exact number of years which any Yuga has? Or
  • When exactly the Kalyuga will end? Or
  • When exactly the Satyuga will begin?

Then 1000’s of links will appear in front of you, with different sets of calculations as well as interpretations. After going through various interpretations, calculations, you will either end up confusing yourself even more or you will attach your belief with a particular set of interpretations and calculations.  Whatever may be the case, the knowledge or interpretation or theory or calculation or philosophy which you will finally trust, would inevitably be wrong. Now why I am saying so? That’s because the information given on each and every website or video or article, on this topic is ABSOLUTELY WRONG. Basically, not even 1 source will provide you with the correct, logical, reliable as well as understandable information.

I know, I know, from here only most of you must have started saying that come on Nikhil, if everywhere, wrong information is given then how can you claim that your perspective or opinion or analysis or interpretation or calculations is right. Well, that’s why I said in the very beginning that this is the most controversial topic but, the answer to your apprehension or doubt would be that after reading this article completely as well as carefully, both your heart and intellect will automatically align themselves, which would enable all of you to believe my words, sooner or LATER.

So let’s begin:

Kalyuga DOES NOT have duration of 432000 years as claimed by most of the people or sources NOR does it last for only 1200 years. BOTH these figures are completely wrong. Please note that none of our ancient authentic texts quotes that the length of the yugas runs in lakhs of years. People simply misinterpreted the term divine years or divya varshas. They assumed that divine or divya means 360 human years and hence multiplied this number with the number corresponding to each yuga in the ratio of 1:2:3:4 and arrived at numbers in lakhs. This blunder was committed by even some great researchers and mathematicians as well.  Divine or Divya only meant, Solar years and nothing else. Sometimes, applying too much of a brain is also harmful.

So now your question must be that Nikhil, if you are questioning both the figures i.e.

  • 1200 years or 1200 times 360 i.e. 432000 years (Kalyug)
  • 2400 years or 2400 times 360 i.e. 864000 years (Dwapar)
  • 3600 years or 3600 times 360 i.e. 1296000 years (Treta)
  • 4800 years or 4800 times 360 i.e. 1728000 years (Satyug)

Then, WHAT are the right figures?

The information which you are going to read from here cannot be found anywhere else in the world and all of you will also agree with this claim very soon.

So friends, fasten your seat belts as for the benefit of all, your friend Nikhil is going to reveal here the secrets known by none.

So HERE WE GO!

Just like in Vedic Astrology, when we interpret dasha system, we have the concept of Mahadasha and Antardasha. Similarly, Yuga cycle also has 2 major components i.e. Brihat (large) cycle and Laghu (small) cycle.

Further, just like Antardasha falls under the Mahadasha, Laghu cycle falls under Brihat cycles.

For better understanding:

Just like, Mahadasha of Saturn consists of Antardashas of Saturn, Mercury, Ketu, Venus, Sun, Moon, Mars, Rahu and Jupiter respectively

Similarly, each Brihat yuga will have Laghu Satyuga, Laghu Treta, Laghu Dwapar and Laghu kalyuga respectively. If you wish then instead of Brihat and Laghu yugas, you may even call them MAHA yugas and ANTAR Yugas

The sequence goes like this:

  • Brihat Satyuga will have Laghu Satyuga, Laghu Treta, Laghu Dwapar and Laghu kalyug
  • Brihat Treta yuga will have Laghu Satyuga, Laghu Treta, Laghu Dwapar and Laghu kalyug
  • Brihat Dwapar yuga will have Laghu Satyuga, Laghu Treta, Laghu Dwapar and Laghu kalyug
  • Brihat kalyug yuga will have Laghu Satyuga, Laghu Treta, Laghu Dwapar and Laghu kalyug

Please Note:  Each Brihat yuga as well as laghu yuga has their own sangam or sandhi kaals of specific periods.

SO FINALLY, Number of years allotted to each Brihat Yuga are:

  • Brihat Satyuga: 20160 years (4 times the span of Brihat kalyuga)
  • Brihat Treta yuga: 15120 years (3 times the span of Brihat kalyuga)
  • Brihat Dwapar yuga: 10080 years (2 times the span of Brihat kalyuga)
  • Brihat Kalyuga: 5040 years

Before moving ahead, please note that, the total of all the numbers or digits corresponding to Each Brihat yuga duration and each Laghu yuga duration is number 9. This also means that each brihat yuga and each laghu yuga starts or ends on the year whose addition of numbers or digits gives number 9. Incidentally, I don’t know whether you people are aware or not, but number 9 is the most auspicious number or its the supreme number out of all the SINGLE digit numbers (0-9). People who specializes in Ankvigyan or who practice numerology, know this fact very well.

Also, for your knowledge, let me inform you that number 108 (Its the very first number containing 1, 0 and 8 digits) is most auspicious number out of all the numbers. Let me give you a brief idea, why ? Friends, when we look at the sky, the size of the Sun and Moon looks quite similar but do you know why the apparent sizes of Sun and Moon in the Earth’s sky are about the same, even though there is huge difference between the sizes of the Sun and the Moon? This is because; Sun and Moon both are having approximately the same ratio between their diameters and their distances to Earth. In short, the distance of Earth from the Sun, is approximately 108 times the diameter of the Sun. Further, the distance between the Earth and the Moon is also approximately 108 times the diameter of the Moon. Indeed this is the reason why total solar eclipses are possible and the apparent sizes of Sun and Moon in the Earth’s sky are about the same. This fact alone is enough to make you realize the importance of the Number 108 and its association with the Sun and Moon. Indeed the significance of the number of 108 does not end here.

  • In Tantra, it is estimated that every day we breathe 21,600 times out of which 10,800 are solar energy and 10,800 are lunar energy. 108 times 100 is 10,800 and 10,800 times 2 is 21,600.
  • According to Ayurveda, there are 108 pressure points in the body, where consciousness and flesh intersect to give life to the living being.
  • As per Indian culture, there are 108 desires, 108 evils while most of the Gods are having 108 names.
  • Sanskrit is considered to be as the most scientific language. There are 54 letters in Sanskrit and each letter has feminine (Shakti) and Masculine (Shiva) energies (54 times 2 = 108).
  • In Vedic astrology, there are 12 houses and 9 planets. 12 times 9 equals 108. Also there are 27 nakshatras and each nakshatra has 4 padas, 27 times 4 equals 108.
  • There are 108 Puranas and 108 Upanishads.

There are 100’s of other facts which casts light on the importance of the number 108.

Therefore, If I claim that everything in nature or universe revolves around the number 108 or numbers 1, 0 and 8, then my claim will not be wrong. So make some effort and search yourself. Similarly numbers which are made up of 1, 0 and 8 digits, like 1008, 1080, 10080, 10800, 100080, 100800, 1000080, 1000800 etc are also in symphony with the nature. The total of all the numbers or digits corresponding to all these kind of numbers is also 9. You may also read my article on D-108 chart in Vedic Astrology, which I had written more than a decade back.

Keeping this background of 1, 0 and 8 numbers in mind, let’s march ahead:

1 complete MahaYuga Cycle is of total 100800 years i.e. 50400 years of Descending Cycle and 50400 years of Ascending cycle.

Many people would have read this figure of 100800 yuga cycle for the first time, so for them, let your friend Nikhil update you about the concept of orbital eccentricity. Basically, Earth’s annual movement around the Sun isn’t perfectly circular. Over time, the pull of gravity from our solar system’s two largest gas giant planets, Jupiter and Saturn, causes the shape of Earth’s orbit to vary from nearly circular to slightly elliptical. Eccentricity measures how much the shape of Earth’s orbit departs from a perfect circle. These variations also affect the distance between Earth and the Sun. Please note, Ecliptic and Celestial Equator in space are inclined to one another by an angle of approximately 23.44 degrees called the obliquity. Obliquity is why Earth has seasons but Eccentricity is the reason why our seasons are of slightly different lengths. Currently, Earth’s eccentricity is near its least elliptic (most circular) and is very slowly decreasing, in a cycle that spans about 100,000 years as per modern science but as per our ancient Vedic system, this figure is of 100800 years. Earth’s orbit shape varies between 0.0034 (almost a perfect circular orbit) to 0.058 (slightly elliptical orbit). Over the next ~50,000 years (as per the Modern Science and approximately over the next 50400 years as per our ancient Vedic system), Earth will gradually move into an eccentricity maximum i.e 0.058. During the Descending cycle of 50400 years, the eccentricity goes from maximum to minimum i.e. from 0.058 to 0.0034 and during the Ascending cycle of 50400 years the eccentricity goes from minimum to maximum i.e. from 0.0034 to 0.058. Descending and Ascending cycle together makes eccentricity cycle of approximately 100,000 years and in our ancient Vedic System, we call it as a yuga cycle of 100800 years.

Descending Yuga cycle has 2 cycles of 25200 years and ascending cycle also has has 2 cycles of 25200 years. So basically, each complete Yuga cycle consists of 4 cycles of 25200 years which corresponds to precession of the equinoxes. [For your information, this AVERAGE cycle of 25200 years (At present, the rate of precession corresponds to a period of 25,772 years i.e. considering rate of 50.4 arc seconds annually) represent, the precession of the equinoxes which is a movement of the celestial equator (the projection of Earth’s equator into space) with respect to the fixed stars and the ecliptic (the path of the sun’s motion in space as viewed from Earth). These two great circles (i.e. Ecliptic and Celestial Equator) in space are inclined to one another by an angle of approximately 23.44 degrees called the obliquity. Their intersection defines the equinox. The equinoxes (Vernal and autumn equinox) drift westward along the ecliptic at the rate of 50.4 arc seconds annually as the celestial equator moves with Earth’s precession]

Here, Please note that many people even consider this period of 25200 years as the total span of yuga cycle and then they again divide these 25200 years into 2 parts (Ascending and Descending) of 12600 years each (Few people accept the figure of 24000 years, further dividing it into 2 parts of 12000 years each), which is again a BLUNDER committed by them. I don’t know from where such huge discrepancies have been introduced in these calculations, may be in the span of thousands of years, wrong translations have lead to wrong interpretations.

Let me just try to reconstruct that what could have happened in the past thousands of years.

First mistake or blunder:

Our ancient texts (which are not currently available in their original form) must have mentioned that yuga cycle is of 100800 years and therefore it has 4 cycles of 25200 years, but some researchers must have accidentally assumed these 4 cycles as 4 yugas and misinterpreted that 4 yugas collectively make 25200 years or 24000 years.

Second mistake or blunder:

Concept of Ascending or Descending must also be there in those original texts (which are not currently available in their original form), but researches must have mistakenly applied this concept on 25200 years or 24000 years, deriving the figures of 12600 years or 12000 years (after dividing 25200 or 24000 by 2). Further dividing these 12000 years in the arithmetic sequence of 4:3:2:1, must have given them the years which fall under each yugas, like 4800, 3600, 2400 and 1200 years respectively for Satyuga, Treta yuga, Dwapar yuga and Kalyuga.

Third mistake or blunder:

Now researchers knew that kalyuga started somewhere after the death of lord Krishna i.e. in 3101 BC, therefore span of kalyuga was coming out to be more than 5000 years. By this, researchers must have got perplexed or confused as in their derivation, span of kalyuga was only 1200 years and the figures were not matching with 5000 years. So to get rid of this mismatch, one lot of researchers applied too much of a brain and multiplied 1200 years by 360 assuming these years to be divya varshas or divine years. With this they arrived at the figure of 432000 years for kalyuga. This was a six out of the stadium, so clapping for those researchers.

Fourth mistake or blunder:

Another lot of researches felt that lakhs of years are getting too much and they were not able to digest the figures in lakhs, hence they decided to apply even more brain than the first lot of researchers. So they said that, span of the yugas does not follow any Arithmetic progression and therefore the span of all the yugas are equal i.e. each yuga is of 3000 years (3000 times 4 is 12000 years). But even after doing this, they were not reaching anywhere near to the number of 5000 years. Now, what to do ? Let’s do another mistake.

Note: For the people who reject the concept of Arithmetic progression in the span of yugas, must read my another article, so that you have absolute clarity of things, here is the link.

Fifth mistake or blunder:

These researchers expanded their intelligence to the next level and came with a new revolutionary invention. They said that after the descending cycle of 12000 years, Ascending cycle of 12000 years starts with a Kalyuga of 3000 years unlike the descending cycle which started with Satyuga. So guess what, they now have a total of 6000 years which they can allot to Kalyuga, i.e. 3000 years of descending cycle and 3000 years of ascending cycle. I mean Wow, just because your calculations were not matching, so you decided to bring another kalyuga after kalyuga, hats off to such higher beings.

Ironically, even after making all these 5 mistakes, mismatch still was not eliminated but yes they did managed to make a mockery of the concept of yuga cycle. A deadly cocktail which left all our future generations CONFUSED.

Basically one mistake lead to another mistake or one wrong assumption lead to another wrong assumption, leading to huge blunders everywhere.

I beg all of you to please COME OUT of all this miscalculations, mistakes and blunders. Now, please read the actual version of yuga cycle in detail.

People must realize that 1 yuga cycle consists of 4 cycles of 25200 years i.e. total of 100800 years and the Span of 4 yugas has NOTHING to do with the cycle of 25200 years (average).

So 1 MahaYuga cycle of 100800 human years consists of:

  • 2 (Ascending + Descending) Satyuga’s of 20160 human years EACH (i.e. total of 40320 years)
  • 2 (Ascending + Descending) Treta yuga’s of 15120 human years EACH (i.e. total of 30240 years)
  • 2 (Ascending + Descending) Dwapar yuga’s of 10080 human years EACH (i.e. total of 20160 years)
  • 2 (Ascending + Descending) Kalyuga’s of 5040 human years EACH (i.e. total of 10080 years)

Or

4 cycles of 25200 years (precession of the equinoxes as explained above)

So now let’s understand Brihat (or Maha) and laghu (or Antar) yuga cycles in detail.

Note:

  • Sangam kaals or Sandhi kaals should NOT be counted separately as they are already included in the calculation given below.
  • There are total 20 Avtars or incarnations of Bhagwan Vishnu in the Mahayuga of 100800 years. Further, in the Descending cycle of 50400 years, 4 Avtars or incarnations in Brihat Satyug, 3 Avtars or incarnations in Brihat Treta, 2 Avtars or incarnations in Brihat Dwapar and 1 Avtar or incarnation in Brihat Kalyuga i.e. total 10 Avtars or incarnations of Bhagwan Vishnu in 50400 years. Similarly, 10 Avtars or incarnations of Bhagwan Vishnu in the Ascending cycle of 50400 years or from another perspective, on an average once in every 5040 years.

The Descending cycle of 50400 years starts with Brihat Satyuga

Brihat Satyuga cycle is of 20160 years with brihat sangam kaal of 895.91 years (i.e. 20160 multiplied by 0.04444) (i.e. multiplied by the factor of 0.04, please note since Brihat Satyuga works on the factor of 4 therefore taken the number 4, 4 times after 0)

Note: In Brihat Satyug, Bhagwan Vishnu takes, Avtars or incarnations, 4 times i.e. on an average once in every 5040 years. These 4 Avtars were Hayagreeva, Matsya, Kurma and Varaha.

  • Brihat and laghu satyuga starts (Continues for 8064 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 358.36 years i.e. 8064 multiplied by 0.04444)
  • Laghu satyuga end and Laghu treta starts (Continues for 6048 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 268.77 years)
  • Laghu treta ends and Laghu dwapar starts (Continues for 4032 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 179.18 years)
  • Laghu dwapar ends and Laghu kalyug starts (Continues for 2016 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 89.59 years)
  • Brihat Satyuga and Laghu Kalyuga ends

Brihat Treta cycle is of 15120 years with brihat sangam kaal of 503.49 years (i.e. 15120 multiplied by 0.0333) (i.e. multiplied by the factor of 0.03, please note since Brihat Treta works on the factor of 3 therefore taken the number 3, 3 times after 0)

Note: In Brihat Treta, Bhagwan Vishnu takes, Avtars or incarnations, 3 times i.e. on an average once in every 5040 years. These 3 Avtars were Narasimha, Vamana and Parshurama.

  • Brihat treta and Laghu satyuga starts (Continues for 6048 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 201.39 years i.e. 6048 multiplied by 0.0333)
  • Laghu satyuga end and Laghu treta starts (Continues for 4536 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 151.04 years)
  • Laghu treta ends and Laghu dwapar starts (Continues for 3024 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 100.69 years)
  • Laghu dwapar ends and Laghu kalyuga starts (Continues for 1512 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 50.34 years) [This started on 14598 BC]
  • Brihat treta and Laghu Kalyuga ends on 13086 BC

Brihat Dwapar cycle is of 10080 years with brihat sangam kaal of 221.76 years (i.e. 10080 multiplied by 0.022) (i.e. multiplied by the factor of 0.02, please note since Brihat Dwapar works on the factor of 2 therefore taken the number 2, 2 times after 0)

Note: In Brihat Dwapar, Bhagwan Vishnu takes, Avtars or incarnations, 2 times i.e. on an average once in every 5040 years. These 2 Avtars were Ram and Krishna.

  • Brihat dwapar and Laghu satyuga starts (Continues for 4032 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 88.70 years i.e. 4032 multiplied by 0.022) [This started on 13086 BC]
  • Laghu satyuga end and Laghu treta starts (Continues for 3024 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 66.52 years) [This started on 9054 BC]
  • Laghu treta ends and Laghu dwapar starts (Continues for 2016 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 44.35 years) [This started on 6030 BC]
  • Laghu dwapar ends and Laghu kalyuga starts (Continues for 1008 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 22.17 years) [This started on 4014 BC]
  • Brihat dwapar and Laghu Kalyuga ends [This ended on 3006 BC, Bhagwan Krishna was born on 24th June 3227 BC, at 12:01:32 am in Mathura, India i.e. when only 221 years were left for Brihat Dwapar yuga to end. Parikshit lived for 60 years and ruled for 24 years and died in 3077 BC. Approximately 95 years after the death of Lord Krishna on 22nd Jan 3101 BC and 71 years after the death of Parikshit i.e. in 3077 BC, Brihat Dwapar ended in 3006 BC. Refer detailed events of Mahabharata given in this article]

Also Note:

  • Bhagwan Ram took birth on 10th Jan 5114 BC, at 10:14:54 am in Ayodhya, India and this would fall in Laghu Dwapar yuga under Brihat Dwapar yuga. This actually mean that in the span of thousands of years people have mistakenly assumed that lord Ram was born in Treta yug. This also mean that both Lord Ram and Lord Krishna took birth in the Brihat Dwapar yuga (though Laghu yugas were different)

Brihat Kalyuga cycle is of 5040 years with brihat sangam kaal of 50.40 years (i.e. 5040 multiplied by 0.01) (i.e. multiplied by the factor of 0.01, please note since Brihat Kalyuga works on the factor of 1 therefore taken the number 1, 1 time after 0)

Note: In Brihat Kalyuga, Bhagwan Vishnu takes, Avtar or incarnation, only 1 time i.e. once in 5040 years. This 1 Avtar is Bhagwan Kalki.

  • Brihat Kalyuga and Laghu satyuga starts (continues for 2016 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 20.16 years i.e. 2016 multiplied by 0.01) [This started on 3006 BC]
  • Laghu satyuga end and Laghu treta starts (continues for 1512 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 15.12 years) [This started on 990 BC]
  • Laghu treta ends and Laghu dwapar starts (continues for 1008 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 10.08 years) [This started on 522 AD]
  • Laghu dwapar ends and Laghu kalyug starts (continues for 504 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 5.04 years) [This started on 1530 AD]
  • Brihat and Laghu Kalyuga ends on 2034 AD

Please note:

  • Sangam or sandhi Kaal of this Brihat Kalyuga of 5040 years is from 1984 AD till 2034 AD. This period brings huge destruction at worldwide level.
  • This worldwide destruction becomes even more intense in the last 14 years of sangam or sandhi kaal i.e. from 2020 AD till 2034 AD
  • Laghu Sangam or sandhi kaal corresponding to Laghu Kalyuga under Brihat kalyuga is from 2029 AD till 2034 AD.
  • That means period from 2029 AD till 2034 AD represent both brihat and laghu sangam or sandhi kaal of kalyuga, hence would be the most intense one from the angle of worldwide destruction

The Ascending cycle of 50400 years starts with Brihat Satyug from 2034 AD

Brihat Satyuga cycle is of 20160 years with brihat sangam kaal of 895.91 years (i.e. 20160 multiplied by 0.04444) (i.e. multiplied by the factor of 0.04, please note since Brihat Satyuga works on the factor of 4 therefore taken the number 4, 4 times after 0)

Note: In Brihat Satyug, Bhagwan Vishnu takes, Avtars or incarnations, 4 times i.e. on an average once in every 5040 years.

  • Brihat and laghu satyuga starts (Continues for 8064 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 358.36 years i.e. 8064 multiplied by 0.04444) [Starts from 2034 AD and will continue till 10098 AD]

  • Brihat treta and Laghu satyuga starts (Continues for 6048 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 201.39 years i.e. 6048 multiplied by 0.0333)
  • Laghu satyuga end and Laghu treta starts (Continues for 4536 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 151.04 years)
  • Laghu treta ends and Laghu dwapar starts (Continues for 3024 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 100.69 years)
  • Laghu dwapar ends and Laghu kalyuga starts (Continues for 1512 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 50.34 years)
  • Brihat treta and Laghu Kalyuga ends

Brihat Dwapar cycle is of 10080 years with brihat sangam kaal of 221.76 years (i.e. 10080 multiplied by 0.022) (i.e. multiplied by the factor of 0.02, please note since Brihat Dwapar works on the factor of 2 therefore taken the number 2, 2 times after 0)

Note: In Brihat Dwapar, Bhagwan Vishnu takes, Avtars or incarnations, 2 times i.e. on an average once in every 5040 years.

  • Brihat dwapar and Laghu satyuga starts (Continues for 4032 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 88.70 years i.e. 4032 multiplied by 0.022)

Note: In Brihat Kalyuga, Bhagwan Vishnu takes, Avtar or incarnation, only 1 time i.e. once in 5040 years.

  • Brihat Kalyuga and Laghu satyuga starts (continues for 2016 human years with laghu sangam kaal of 20.16 years i.e. 2016 multiplied by 0.01)
