Dear friends, though by lord’s grace your friend Nikhil , till date has written more than 100 articles on Astrology related subjects but still after a long time I am writing an article. Reasons are only 2, firstly, time is the only constraint with me and secondly unless something comes from my soul, I do not write. Today, fortunately, I am stealing some time from my schedule to write this piece on the command of my soul because of a VERY BIG reason. I know, you all would have started wondering that ‘what could be that reason which Nikhil is calling BIG’, so friends relax, as you all know, I have never kept you wondering for long.
Actually friends, since last many years, during my Astrology related consultations and researches, I came across 1000’s of cases where love or marital relationships are falling like a pack of cards. Each case has a different background, different story, different reasons but outcome is the same i.e. stress, depression, irritation, frustration, heavy heart, regret etc etc, and I don’t need to elaborate that feeling as most of you must have either seen serious relationship issues in your surroundings or you yourself must have experienced the same.
Another thing which I noticed that the people who are considered as highly educated or rich are also facing these relationship issues which basically means that our education system or money has completely FAILED to restore happiness in our personal lives. In short, a lot has to be learnt and understood, to return on the path of peace and happiness especially in our personal lives.
Through this article, your friend Nikhil, wants all of you to understand these relationships through Astrology, so that a general wisdom could prevail in the society and complexities of relationships could be minimized. I am sure, after reading this article, you will acknowledge Astrology as a great tool in fulfilling this objective.
Now from here on, please read each and every word of your friend Nikhil, very carefully with an absolute attention. I know it can be hard for you, but at least try your level best, to understand the use of Astrology in decoding various aspects of relationships.
See, we all say that Venus is a planet of love and most of the people believe that relationship is all about love i.e. loving someone or being loved by someone but only a few individuals understands that love is only 1 aspect of a relationship and actual relationship is much beyond the word ‘love’. Basically, if other aspects of relationship are not understood correctly, then this love which everyone is so boastfully talking about, soon takes the shape of lust and what happens in lust, we all know. So if you all want this love to become TRUE love instead of lust, then keep reading.
Actually, all planets governs different aspects of relationship.
Sun represent truth (Satya) in a relationship i.e. works at the level of Soul (Atma) and if truth is not practiced, then Sun introduces ego and pride in the relationship.
Moon represent alignment of thoughts (Vichar) or thoughts compatibility in a relationship i.e. works at the level of Mind (Mann).
Mars represent physical compatibility along with a feeling of surrender (Samarpan) and sacrifice (Tyag) in a relationship i.e. works at the level of Body (Sharir).
Rahu represent all kinds of negativity which if not tamed can ruin any relationship i.e. works at the level of Jealousy (Irshya), Anger (Krodh), Want /greed (Lobh), Attraction (Moh), Injustice (Anyaye), Passion/Lust (Kaam), Hatred (Ghradna), Laziness (Aalasya), Ignorance (Agyan), False (Asatya), Fear (Bhaye). Secondly, whether it’s Nikhil or you or anyone, no one can escape the parameters of Rahu without the blessings of that almighty
Jupiter represent respect (Samman) in a relationship which comes from the efforts (Parishram) i.e. works at the level of knowledge (Gyan) or you can say compatibility through knowledge.
Saturn represent element of commitment (pratibaddhata) and loyalty (Nishtha) in a relationship i.e. works at the level of Justice (Nyaye). Basically compatibility in terms of commitment & loyalty.
Mercury represent understanding (Samajh) in a relationship i.e. works at the level of intelligence (Buddhi). In short, compatibility of intelligence.
Ketu represent detachment or the amount of freedom (Swatantrata) which husband/wife give to each other in a relationship which comes from mutual trust (Vishwas) in a relationship i.e. works at the level of faith (Shraddha).
Venus represent compassion (Karuna), kindness (Daya) and affection (Sneh) in a relationship i.e. works at the level of true love (Prem).
Unfortunately, all these deeper aspects of relationships described above are slowly getting neglected especially by the current generation. As a result, sustainability of relationships is rapidly facing a serious threat and this what your friend Nikhil, too, has experienced through 1000’s of cases, which I have handled in the last 2 decades.
If all the elements or planets contribute in an appropriate and balanced manner then every relationship can become a spiritual relationship between the two souls.
Now lets try to explore these things through a predictive angle. Suppose, you wish to identify that in which scenario a PERSON WOULD GET MARRIED TO a Beautiful, Tall, Loyal, Honest, Cultured, Wise, Loving and a Generous Female, then first always remember that the 7th house represents “the other person” entering your life-space, so if it becomes too loaded, the relationship can start defining the native’s entire life direction instead of simply enriching it. Therefore an empty 7th house often symbolizes relational openness and balance. It allows partnership to remain a supporting pillar rather than the central controller of identity. In practical terms, the marriage may still be strong, loving, and significant, but it does not constantly force life through one planetary filter. Instead, the spouse is understood more through the 7th lord, Venus, aspects on 7th cusp, and Navamsa chart, which can make the bond feel cleaner and less overwhelming. The relationship should support, stabilize, and complement the self rather than dominate the self.
A planet there in the 7th house/cusp often means the spouse or partnership repeatedly expresses that planet’s agenda in visible ways:
- Mars → the relationship may revolve around passion, assertion, conflict, or physicality etc
- Sun → identity, pride, authority, status, dominance etc
- Saturn → duty, delay, burden, endurance etc
- Rahu → obsession, intensity, unconventional pull etc
So, the other person can begin to dominate life through that graha’s/planet’s parameters, which is why many Indian classical astrological texts prefer a less crowded or empty 7th house/cusp, if “ease” is the goal. The best relationship uplifts the self without swallowing the self. In that sense, an empty 7th with strong benefic influence from the 1st house/cusp like that of Venus, Jupiter, often feels ideal—partnership as support, not domination (as all planets have a 7th aspects only especially benefics like Venus, Mercury, Moon). In the 1st house/cusp, Mars can translate into healthy drive, attraction, decisiveness, physical vitality, and initiative, which then reflects onto the spouse axis in a manageable way. But when Mars sits directly in the 7th house/cusp, the same Martian energy enters the marriage field itself, so the qualities can become excessive passion, conflict, sexual impatience, competitiveness, or domination, especially if further hit by Saturn, Rahu, or the Sun. Similarly, Sun in the 1st house/cusp can simply make the native and spouse axis carry self-respect, dignity, confidence, and some pride/ego. But in the 7th house, that solar fire can become dominance, superiority, authority battles, or a spouse whose identity strongly overpowers the relationship space. This is why the 7th is often called sensitive—not because planets there always harm marriage, but because the house is the direct arena of “the other person,” so every graham/planet there behaves in a more concentrated and visible manner than through aspect alone. That’s why in a traditional interpretive stream: some classical rules loosely associate multiple planets in the 7th with multiple major relationship karmas, sometimes simplified as “one planet = one major spouse-like bond.” I would treat that as a symbolic heuristic rather than a literal law, because real outcomes depend on many factors like 7th lord, karaka Venus, Navamsha, afflictions, and dasha timing etc. But the underlying idea is still that the more crowded the 7th, the more complex and layered the marriage karma becomes.
So what would be the ideal scenario for a relationship. Simple, benefics in the 1st house/cusp is most desired especially first rate benefics like Venus, Jupiter. See, the 1st house is the lens through which the entire life is experienced, and from there any planet casts its full influence on the 7th house axis of spouse and marriage. So when Venus + Jupiter sit in the 1st, they do two things simultaneously: they shape native’s own personality, expectations, and marriage karma, and they directly project those same qualities onto the spouse through the 7th aspect. Because of this, the spouse’s traits are often more obvious, more embodied, and more consistently felt in day-to-day married life. In simple terms, the native not only gets such a spouse, but also naturally recognizes, values, and attracts those Jupiter-Venus qualities. Secondly as I mentioned before that “the 7th house should remain empty”—many classical texts do prefer this as a general principle, because the 7th is a highly sensitive house. Any planet placed there directly modifies marriage, and even benefics can over-emphasize certain themes. For example, Venus in the 7th may increase romance and attraction, but can also heighten sensuality; Jupiter can bless the spouse, yet may sometimes create idealism or expectation overload.
An empty 7th house/cusp often allows the 7th lord, aspects, Navamsha, and karakas to operate more cleanly, without a single graham/planet dominating the marriage field. So Venus + Jupiter in the 1st may give a more “pure premium spouse signature” than the same combination sitting in the 7th, because the 1st-to-7th axis influence is elegant and indirect rather than crowded. This often makes the spouse qualities feel natural, visible, and stable, while preserving the 7th house’s balance.
Venus + Jupiter in the 1st house most completely combines all eight qualities (Beautiful, Tall, Loyal, Honest, Cultured, Wise, Loving and a Generous Female). Venus is the direct significator of beauty, charm, elegance, loving nature, refinement, and relationship harmony, so it naturally gives an attractive and affectionate spouse. Jupiter then elevates those Venusian qualities by adding wisdom, honesty, generosity, ethics, maturity, and cultured values. Since this conjunction is in the 1st house, it directly influences the 7th-house marriage through aspect, causing the spouse to strongly reflect these refined Jupiter-Venus traits. Jupiter also gives a larger, graceful, well-proportioned physical presence, which supports “tall” requirement better than combinations that only give delicacy or passion.
Venus + Moon in the 1st house/cusp gives beauty, softness, love, and emotional bonding, but it is too mood-driven to reliably signify the wise, principled honesty and stable generosity.
Venus + Mercury in the 1st house/cusp gives beauty, charm, wit, youthfulness, and cultured communication, but Mercury is more playful and adaptable than deeply loyal or value-based.
Venus + Sun in the 1st house/cusp can give a classy and radiant spouse, yet the Sun introduces pride, self-centeredness, or ego clashes that reduce the “loving and generous” softness.
Venus + Mars in the 1st house/cusp gives magnetism, beauty, and passion, but the Martian fire can make the spouse more impulsive, assertive, or combative than consistently wise and gentle.
Venus + Saturn in the 1st house/cusp can certainly give height, loyalty, endurance along with Venusian beauty (but it also makes the spouse serious). However, Saturn’s version of loyalty is often rooted in duty, obligation, and endurance, whereas Jupiter gives natural honesty, moral wisdom, generosity, culture, and affectionate nobility.
I just hope that all my young readers, followers and friends would try to understand each aspect of relationship stated above which will directly help them to strengthen their relationship. One last point which your friend Nikhil wants to mention is that strong relationship between any two individuals not only stabilize the life of those two individuals but also lays a strong foundation for a family, society, nation and world as a whole.
